Krog Street Market (KSM): Atlanta Neighborhood Spotlight

Located in Inman Park, right beside the Beltline, Krog Street Market is full of great places to eat, drink and shop. It opened in 2014 and was designed to be a gathering place for Atlantans with market stalls to get prepared foods and more. It’s kind of its own neighborhood and a Bubbly Talk favorite.

Favorite Restaurants & Bars in Krog Street Market

Food halls are all the craze and KSM packs a lot of punch within its walls. It has something for everyone and here are some of my top picks!

Bar Mercado

Serving modern Spanish-inspired small plates & drinks, Bar Mercado has quickly become one of my favorite spots. They have great food, a nice (dog friendly) patio & great drink specials. During brunch they offer ½ off ALL bottles of wine and Bottomless Sangria or Mimosas for $15!

Bar Mercado also offers a lot of classes and events at their bar such as tastings & cocktail making. You can keep up with their specials and events by following them on Instagram. I love going there to have drinks at the bar or for brunch. A few of my favorite brunch items are: the Banana Bread (it’s so good and like dessert); the Chicken and Churros (this is seriously one of my favorite brunch foods in the city, just delicious!); and the Bikini (a grilled cheese with white American cheese, jamon Serrano and truffle aioli…what?!). Ok, now I’m hungry.

Ticonderoga Club

A colonial era-inspired tavern that serves mostly seafood, a few Asian dishes and incredible craft cocktails. I’ve been a few times, once for dinner. The food was great but let’s not kid ourselves, the drinks are what bring me back. I ordered a Gin Fizz the first time I went and not “quick shake and pour version” but a proper Ramos Gin Fizz. The one that when you order, the bartender asks you if you’re in a hurry because this drink is going to take a minute or TEN to make. One sip of this beautiful drink though makes every minute I waited more than worth it. If you’ve never had this drink before, it is a heavy drink so I can’t do more than one but I now crave them and only from Ticonderoga. They make theirs the right way and nowhere else has even come close to making it better.

Ticonderoga does, in fact, have a club you can join to get invites to special events they do. So, if you’re interested, go by and get some info. It’s a pretty small bar and always packed. If you haven’t been go soon to check it out. They serve dinner and brunch.

Watchman’s

A Seafood & Spirits restaurant that opened this summer, Watchman’s has got good food and drinks in the bag. I recently dined here for the first time and was blown away by everything we ordered, as well as the top notch service we received. Their menu may change based on specials and they always have a nice selection of fresh oysters. A few of my favorites included: the Lump Crab Fritters (these were out of this world good); the Grouper; and the Grilled Collar (delicate and delicious).

Also, the Mezcal Swizzle cocktail is now on my list of ATL favorites – it tastes just as good as it looks. Watchman’s has a great bar to hang out in.

With their impressive menu and service, if you haven’t been to try them out yet, make your reservation to go soon because you’re missing out. It’s a great new addition to KSM!

A Couple More Gems

I have to mention Recess because I tried a few items on their menu and loved them all. If you are looking for healthy yet delicious food options, definitely stop here. Their bowls and toasts cannot be beat, so satisfying and SO good!

And of course, I have to give some love to Fred’s Meat & Bread, the best Cheesesteak in Atlanta! They also have a damn good burger and fries. Go, eat and leave very full and happy.
